Valentin Vasilev is the head of the “Center in Leadership and Public Policy” and a professor of “National Security” (“Crisis situations and human resources management”) at the Graduate School of Security and Economy /VUSI/, located in the city of Plovdiv. Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law and History from 2010 to 2019; part of Neofit Rilski Secondary School, Blagoevgrad, from 2000 until 2021. He is the author of more than a hundred publications in scientific publications in the areas of human resources management, crises, teamwork, motivation and organizational behavior, public policies, and more, Possesses a wealth experience working in public management, as: Deputy Mayor of Blagoevgrad Municipality /2007-2010/; Public Mediator /Ombudsman/ of Blagoevgrad Municipality /2018-2021/; expert in the implementation of projects in more than thirty municipal administrations; lecturer at the Institute of Public Administration /IPA/; appraiser of projects of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Scientific Research Fund at the Ministry of Education and Science.

Dafinka Sidova has а PhD in “Security Strategies and Policies”. She is a National and International Security Department associate professor at the New Bulgarian University, Sofia. Her scientific interests are in Human Security and "Wider Security", and their dimensions and aspects with political, economic, social, societal, cultural, and environmental characteristics.

This paper emphasizes one of the new managerial dilemmas – the search for balance in change management in a crisis context. It includes conceptual models related to the knowledge of crises and their dimensions, change management and new aspects, and new ideas and challenges in this research field. The authors attempt to present at a conceptual new level established in theory models of the role of changes, refracting them through the prism of crisis management and its role in security in the modern organization. Less popular change management models, particularly adaptable to crises and crisis management, are presented in a critical scientific interpretation.
